The man responsible for murdering Philant Johnson, the friend and assistant to rap star T.I., has been sentenced 66 years to life in prison for his crime.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, Hosea Thomas received his sentencing in an Ohio courtroom today (December 23) after being convicted last month for the murder of Johnson stemming from a gunfire exchange May 2006.
As previously reported by SOHH, Hosea was found guilty late last month (November 26) for the fatal shooting and was also convicted of felonious assault in addition to illegally possessing a gun after a felony conviction.
Despite his former girlfriend testifying on his behalf, testimonies from T.I. and Hosea’s brother, Padron, likely secured his time behind bars.
No information has been released on when Hosea will begin his prison term.
