With the 2014 BET Awards coming up this weekend, SOHH reached out to "Best New Artist" nominee Mack Wilds to get his take on possibly walking home with a trophy. #SOHHExclusive
Despite the stiff competition, Wilds said he is going to be at the annual ceremony with high hopes.
“I think it’s going to be tough competition, but I’m going to go in there, prayed up and hope for the best,” Wilds told SOHH writer Nikita Rathod. “[Am I fan of them?] Definitely, absolutely, ScHoolboy Q definitely. August, completely. Ariana Grande, she is amazing, a very, very beautiful young lady. I am definitely a fan of the competition – I wouldn’t even call them competition, they’re really my peers, they’re the guys that if you look in my iPod, you will definitely see two or three songs of theirs.” (SOHH)
Wilds will meet some serious contenders in fellow rap stars Rich Homie Quan and ScHoolboy Q.

Recently, Mack talked about collaborating with French Montana, Mobb Deep and Busta Rhymes for his “Henny” remix.
“I wish it was like the old days where everyone was in the studio together, but it was really dope. French and I had spoke about him being a part of a remix before and this came up. Then Havoc was like, “We wanna do something with you and give you some of that real flavor,” and I’m like, “Of course!” Busta Rhymes cornered me in the club one night and was like, “Yo, I don’t care who’s on the track but I’m getting on that track, so your best bet is to just let me know who’s on it!” I was like, “Cool.” It literally all came together in, like, a three-week span.” (BET)
