Former Westside Connection member Mack 10 may have crushed fans' hopes for a reunion with ex-partner Ice Cube by revealing a lack of motivation to patch up their estranged relationship.

According to Mack, he is doubtful a reunion with Cube will ever happen.

Mack 10 says there are plans to go out on the road with Glasses Malone, Xzibit and Richie Rich. But one artist you won’t see sharing the stage with Mack is former mentor and cohort Ice Cube. The pair had a falling out in 2007 due to business issues. “I haven’t spoken to Cube in a long time…like years,” Mack says when asked if there was any chance of a Westside Connection reunion. “I don’t know if we will ever speak again. I haven’t given it much thought. It’s all about Hoo Bangin’ now. Outside of that, I can’t really think about it. That’s the way you have to approach this business right now. This is not 1995 anymore.” (VIBE)

Last year, Mack broke his silence on what pulled them apart.

“Basically, I didn’t do anything to him and he didn’t do anything to me,” Mack said in an interview. “We had an argument and I guess it was taken the wrong way because his wife was present. If she wasn’t there, we would probably still be doing records. His brother-in-law was disrespectful in a certain way. I don’t know what kind of dude he is now, but back then he was disrespectful. It was brought to Cube about 3 or 4 times before the bullsh*t happened. If I bring something to you 3 or 4 times and you don’t do anything about it – I mean just because a kid is your kid doesn’t mean he has the right to go spitting about anybody. The argument and the brother-in-law wasn’t worth throwing away The Westside Connection over in my opinion. When I heard the ‘kiss the ring’ comment I just had to laugh because that’s comedy. That’s where I’m at with it. I don’t know what he’s tripping off of.” (All Hip Hop)

Prior to Mack’s comments, Cube used his website to blog about Westside Connection.

“New Westside Connection? Nothing planned. But just for the record. I own the rights. I put Mack-10 in the Connect gang, he didn’t put me in. That’s my sh*t.,” he wrote in a posting last month. (Ice Cube’s Blog)

Initial speculation on their falling out spread online around 2007.

After the last album something went wrong between one time friends Ice Cube and Mack 10. The two artists who in the past supported each others careers to the fullest are no longer on speaking terms. According to MG Insiders after their last WSC release, Mack became upset that Cube wouldn’t go on a second tour to support the album and the two artists clashed! Others have stated Cube felt slighted by Mack’s disrespect after going out of his way to secure him a deal for Hoo Bangin’ via Capitol Records. So much so that he has performed WSC songs without Mack 10, even when he’s at the same venue at the same time. Ice Cube has even gone as far as to remove Mack 10’s name from his lyrics when he’s performing songs. (Mahogany Girl)
