According to weekend estimates, Lupe’s third solo album will lose its top spot next week.

Adele returns to the top next week with her distributor, Sony Music, having a shot at six titles in the Top 10. Geffen’s Rise Against looks solid for a #2 debut with the Chicago punk-rockers’ best ever sales week. Adele (XL/Columbia) 95-105k *Rise Against (Geffen) 85-90k Lupe Fiasco (Atlantic) 50-55k Glee Cast Volume 5 (Columbia) 45-50k Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 40-45k Avril Lavigne (RCA/RMG) 30-35k Justin Bieber Never Say Never (Island/IDJ) 30-35 Marsha Ambrosius (J/RMG) 28-32k Rihanna (Def Jam/IDJ) 24-27k *Travis Barker (Interscope) 24-27k Nicki Minaj (Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown) 24-27k (HITS Daily Double)

Earlier this week, Lupe’s album crushed all releases by debuting at number one.

Leading the pack this week is Lupe Fiasco’s Lasers which topped the chart at No. 1. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Lupe’s long-awaited third solo album sold 204,300 records in seven days. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

Following its accomplishment, Lupe thanked fans and supporters.

“Thank You #Lasers #1,” he tweeted Wednesday (March 16).

“shout 2 all the dj’s, who gave a n*gga replays, @fakeshoredrive @rapradar & the whole internet space, U put it online I put it in they face,”

“and there it will remain, for atleast another week, right at number 1, hahaha yeah nigguh, stay strong Japan, Nate Dogg REST IN PEACE!!!” (Lupe Fiasco’s Twitter)

While the new LP continues to generate sales, Fiasco is already hard at work on his next project.

“There’s no attempt to get on the radio, except maybe once, thus far, it’s still a work in progress,” Fiasco promised in an interview. “It’s a harder album — the beats are way harder. It’s not about being progressive. It’s not about making music, which is weird [to say]. It’s ‘let’s make some really hard-a** songs.'” (MTV)
