In Lupe’s opinion, seeing Kanye get talked down to by music moguls likely sparked his motivation to rap with an undying passion to succeed.

“I’ve watched the progressions,” Lupe said, referring to Kanye. “I’ve watched him get get treated up at Roc-A-Fella a few times and understand that. I watched him get treated up by L.A. Reid one time, where it was like, ‘Yo, you should just stick to beats. You shouldn’t rap.’ And to tell that to somebody definitely sparks some type of fire in them. It would, if you came up there and you’re feeling yourself and you’re aggressive and you’re doing your thing and you got the heads of the music world you shouldn’t do that and then you do it and then you’re bigger than them.” (“Whoolywood Shuffle”)

Fiasco took things a step further by declaring Yeezy rap’s biggest heavyweight.

“I think Kanye’s the biggest artist in the world,” Lupe added. “I think he’s bigger than Drake, I think he’s bigger than Wayne, I think he’s bigger than Jay. I think his footprint, if he chose to do it, he’d be bigger than everybody if he really wanted to. That’s just Lupe’s personal opinion. I’ll see you on Twitter later.” (“Whoolywood Shuffle”)

Recently, Def Jam Records co-founder Russell Simmons wrote a blog post about Ye’s genius characteristics.

“We will no longer be lost in the world and we will survive in this America. I believe these truths to be self-evident. That is what Kanye West told me on a cold morning in New York City just seven days ago. It is his genius, his tenacity, his creativity, his relentlessness and his madness, that will allow us all to one day have the ability to touch the sky.” (Global Grind)

Last month, Kanye detailed how much of a genius he believed he was.

“I would write creative genius when I go through the airport … I would put that on customs [forms], where you put what your title is, except for two reasons: it takes too long to write and sometimes I spell the word genius wrong,” he continued. (Hot 107.9)

  1. black artists went from acts like public enemy, arrested development, gangstarr, and ATCQ to people who are missing teeth and have i-just-stuck-my-finger-in-a-light-socket hairdos

if you’re a black artist and you’re not a gangster, or dumb, or gay- unfortunately today you will not get signed

    this stuff disgusts me

i mean this guy makes ODB look like obama

i mean its one thing to have a crazy musical persona but you sound dumb even in your interview!

for example why is everyone in your world a n*gger or a b*tch? why can’t you just say “they” or “dudes” or “women” or “guys” or “people” ?

the musical representatives in the black community need to change

chief keef is in a gang
kanye wears baphomets and pentagrams and says he is god
rick ross talks about selling drugs and raping women
    asap rocky wears skirts

none of this is cool or funny at all
