Grammy-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco has landed a spot with skateboarding sneaker company Vans as its new brand ambassador for 2012.
Details of the sneaker gig spot hit the Internet this week.
Vans has enlisted the services of Lupe Fiasco for a collection of more casual kicks for its Spring 2012 OTW drop. The sneakers feature a more overall lifestyle feel that resembles that of the brand Gourmet. Minimal branding, clean cuts, and monochromatic uppers characterize the Lupe-collaborated series, as they will be available sometime next year. (Complex)
A couple weeks ago, music producer Apollo Brown said Vans are one of the hottest trends of 2011.
“Hot for me right now is Vans, skateboarding shoes. Vans and DC clothes are really hot right now. Vans skateboarding shoes, I love those. The original joints.” (SOHH)

Grand Hustle’s B.o.B. recently became the brand ambassador for Akoo Clothing.
Rapper B.o.B will soon be appearing on ads for T.I.‘s fashion label, Akoo Clothing, after inking a deal with the rapper’s company. The “Airplanes” star is already signed with T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records and will now also become the brand ambassador for the label. “I’m looking forward to working with Tip (T.I.) and Akoo Clothing on more projects this year,” he said in a statement. “We want to continue to add new-ness to American music as well as push the envelop in the contemporary men’s fashion landscape.” (OMG Music)
