According to reports, the money will go toward helping non-profit organizations provide food and shelter to those impacted by Typhoon Haiyan.

Ludacris has done something, well, ludicrously generous. The rapper and actor has dipped into his bank account and pulled out $50,000 to aid victims of the Philippines typhoon. “Typhoon Haiyan has hurt so many people,” he said in a statement announcing his donation to The mGive Foundation, which is distributing money to five nonprofits, including the United Nation’s World Food Programme. Luda also issued a statement and asked for people to donate a few dollars to help make a big difference.

“If we can give what we are able to help the families who have been devastated by this tragedy, we can all make a difference,” said Ludacris. “You don’t need to be an entertainer to help. You just need a mobile phone. Please text AID to 80108 to make your $10 donation to help our neighbors across the sea get back on their feet.” Added the star: “The world is made up of many voices, but we are one community. By making a text donation, we are a community of action, helping our fellow world citizens in their time of need. Suffering knows no borders. Our charity and compassion can stretch across the sea. It’s simple — you use your celLphone every day. If you can, use it today to make a $10 donation to help the people of the Philippines now when they need it most.” (USA Today)

Game recently revealed plans to donate thousands of dollars for victims of the disaster.

“I know many of you might’ve heard about the typhoon in the Philippines by now where their death total continues to rise daily and is now roughly about 2,500 bodies found dead with an expected 100-150 more daily says their President Benigno Aquino. This hurts my heart knowing that many of those amongst the dead are little children. Every now & again there is a tragedy that strikes somewhere around the world as the previous Thailand Tsunsmi, Haiti Earthquake & the most vicious here in the states “HURRICANE KATRINA”…..” (Game’s Instagram)

Much like Luda, Game also revealed how his fans could support the relief cause.

“It is in these times where we as people of this world get the opportunity to unite with one another & give back, help aid, lend a hand, donate or just send prayers……. Well I am one of those people, so on behalf of @therobinhoodproject & my charitable partner @DanBilzerian we are donating $10,000 to help aid in the relief efforts to restore whatever possible in such a horrific natural disaster. My heart goes out to the families & friends of those who perished for only God knows I could not deal with the loss of any of mine. If there’s anyone out there who would like to donate anything…. UNICEF.org/Philippines or REDcross.org & to directly help the families go to www.worldvision.org/Haiyan now !!! I am sure they would appreciate any sum of money donated. Thanks for your help & follow @therobinhoodproject NOW as well as hashtag us at #TheRobinHoodProject to tell us about/keep up with other stories. Thank you – The Game” (Game’s Instagram)
