Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris has reportedly come up short in a legal battle with ex-girlfriend Tamika Fuller and will now have to pay nearly $40,000 in their child support case.
According to reports, a judge ruled against Luda and made him pay up attorney fees for Fuller.
Ludacris has been embroiled in a nasty child custody battle and in new legal documents exclusive obtained by RadarOnline.com, the Georgia judge sided with the rapper’s baby mama and he’s been ordered to pay her legal bill. “Petitioner shall pay to Respondent’s counsel, Thirty Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), in addition to any amounts previously awarded or paid, as an award of temporary attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation,” the March 20 ruling reads. “Said amount shall be paid to Respondent’s counsel within 10 days of the date of this order.” And because Ludacris’ motion to have Fuller found in contempt was denied, he was knocked an extra $2,000 in fees for that too. In February, reports claimed Luda was putting up a strong fight against his surprise baby mother.
Rapper Ludacris wants to do something so shocking, it will send shock waves through the rap community — he’s fighting for CUSTODY of his kid. Luda and baby mama Tamika Fuller are duking it out in an Atlanta court over custody and child support. They had a baby girl 2 months ago and Tamika’s been taking care of the kid. The rapper now says in legal docs he’s a “fit and capable parent” and should get full physical custody. He offers up his parental resume, saying he’s always been “an active father” to his 12-year-old girl. (TMZ)
To make matters more complicated, the rap star reportedly wanted his daughter’s mother to cough up child support.
Now the plot thickens. Luda has also asked the judge to force Tamika to pay HIM child support. That’s interesting, because Tamika was asking for $15K a month in child support and Ludacris pleaded poverty, saying Paul Walker’s death derailed “Fast & Furious 7” and his cash flow dried up. The judge awarded her $7K a month. So the question … does Luda really want custody, or is this a way to turn the financial tables? (TMZ)
Despite the buzzing gossip and rumors, Luda’s baby mother recently said she never tried to extort Luda in exchange for staying mum about their daughter.
“It saddens me that it has come to this. I did not file on him. Nor would I ever try to attempt to extort my child’s fathers. Ive never asked him to buy me a car. I had engine trouble. I asked to borrow one of his during my pregnancy so that I could continue 2 get 2 work. I have never been a stripper. I did waitress there in my past. I have since moved on from that.
