Southern rapper Chris “Nussie” Jackson was fatally shot late Monday (February 9) night in Louisiana.
The shooting reportedly took place around midnight in a residential neighborhood.
Sgt. Don Kelly, a Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman, says officers responded to a report of a shooting around 11:25 p.m. Monday and found an injured, 37 year-old man who told police that another man had been shot in a house nearby. Local “It’s All Good in the Hood” television host John Roberts has reacted to the rapper’s death.
“It’s a great loss because here you have another young black man who was tragically tooken who had talent that also could have helped people with jobs, could have helped people with their careers, could have shed a light on Baton Rouge’s music scene. (News 2 The Advocate)
Police are reportedly on the search for Nussie’s killer.

The 33 year-old is known for having a strong Southern rap presence.
Nussie had made quite a following for himself within the last four years. He had performed at various night clubs in the Louisiana area, including in Thibodaux, White Castle, and Plaquemine. His album The Champ Iz Here came out last April with Dope Celebrity Records. (Keep It Trill)
