In Fif’s perspective, the same level of urgency is not existent between himself and the original Unit members.

“I hope that they can actually figure out, from that, like when we say they haven’t quite followed my blueprint, it’s disappointing that they’re not following. You feel what I’m saying? To be that close in the circle, it’s almost like, I’m going to be honest with you, it feels like there’s something missing from the actual character. Just people, in general, as people, I think there’s something missing. Something in my character that’s not in their character because I almost ‘have’ to do it. Financially I don’t have to, but I have to because it’s just within me. I gotta be a part of it, I gotta be working, I gotta have something going on, something that I’m doing. They’ve had opportunities to make the transitions that a lot of artists don’t because they can behind the scenes without everyone paying attention to them.” (Hot 97)

Newly added G-Unit Records artist Kidd Kidd recently said he wanted to make sure fans had endless amounts of music much like the old Unit days.

“Just by giving fans real music, like the old G-Unit used to. When Fif came, he made such an impact by giving you real music, real stories,” Kidd Kidd said when asked what he can do to help make G-Unit hot again. “When he rapped, he was telling stories about what’s going on in his neighborhood. It was like roll with him or get rolled over. It’s the same thing with me — when I’m rapping, I give you stories about what’s going on with me and what’s happening in my neighborhood. I want to bring back the essence of the old G-Unit era. But it’s new times now, I have my own moment, the Rida Gang movement. I just want to work hard and start from the ground up.” (HHNM)

Back in January, 50 Cent and Tony Yayo were spotted performing together in Puerto Rico.

50 Cent and his G-Unit compadres return today with something new for our viewing pleasures. The fellas recently took a trip down to Puerto Rico for an impromptu, surprise performance in the island nation. Before the fellas hit the stage they allow us to ride shotgun as they ride around the island checking out hot spots, females, and more. Before you know it, 50, Yayo, and the rest of the Unit hit the stage to give the PR fans exactly what they wanted, a dope show packed full of many of their hits. (Stupid Dope)

Over the fall, G-Unit’s DJ Whoo Kid talked about trying to reunite 50 and estranged group member Lloyd Banks.

“I mean I don’t even know man, I tried to like talk to them. Fif says he hasn’t heard from him, I don’t know man. They’re supposed to be cool, I don’t think there are any major problems. From what I know, they’re cool. They were all at Chris Lighty‘s funeral. You will hear it from him (50). He will give you the view points on Banks and the whole situation with the Unit. But from what I know, they’re cool. But 50 will let you know and explains the situation better.” (HHNM)
