Speaking with DJ Envy, Banks recalled 50 and Em pulling a fast one over him moments before presenting him with a gold certified plaque for “Beamer, Benz or Bentley.”

“I was tight,” Banks admitted about being pranked by 50 and Em. “I didn’t really see the humor in it because just in the industry, I’ve been through similar situations, miscommunications and things like that. Plus, it was crunch time and I was waiting for my time to holler at him [for Hunger For More 2] — I just wasn’t digging that man. They sold me out, brought the plaque out and I’m like, ‘D*mn, if I get a plaque, prank me.'” (“Sucker Free”)

Footage of the prank landed online last September showing Em accusing Banks of turning him down for a guest appearance feature.

“Eh, yo, so Fif had mentioned to me that, he wanted me to jump on your record or whatever and I got a little bit of down time coming up this week when this is all done,” Em told Banks. “But I guess [manager] Paul [Rosenberg] had reached out or whatever to see if you wanted me to be on the record and he said you weren’t sure if you wanted to have me on the record or whatever.” (This Is 50)

50 added fuel to the fire by questioning Banks’ loyalty.

“Did you say something to somebody about you didn’t want him on the record,” 50 questioned Banks to which the rapper responded, “Why would I say that? To who?” “That’s what was being said from Paul. Man, this sh*t is getting crazy. I’m gonna be straight up with you, all right? I think this sh*t is getting a little funny between me, you and [Tony] Yayo and everything else that’s going on because look at how crazy it is actually getting him to rap on your record and I don’t understand what’s going on anymore. I don’t know, when I talked to Paul, Paul pulled me to the side and he’s talking to me like, ‘Yo, what’s going on? Why you don’t want Em? Are you kidding me? He’s the biggest rapper, you can’t get any bigger.'” (This Is 50)

Banks’ new album, Hunger For More 2, is slated to debut on the sales chart this week.

Lloyd Banks’ H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2), his first album for G-Unit under a deal with EMI Label Services, is off to a Top 10 start at iTunes, and should do between 40-50k in sales. Rounding out the new releases are Jay-Z‘s Hits album (25-30k), Arista Nashville’s Alan Jackson (20-25k) and Nine Inch Nails‘ self-released Pretty Hate Machine reissue on their own Null label (17-20k).
