Lloyd Banks Gives Out Relationship Advice, “As Far As Disrespect, You Definitely Can’t Deal With That”

G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks has stepped away from the microphone and offered up some relationship advice to couples.

When asked if it is acceptable for lovers to keep in contact with their ex-partners, Banks discussed the cautions couples should take.

“I could understand it to a certain extent but I also understand that when people are scared to go forward they usually go backwards so just know that that would be the first person that he or she considers to go back to. To each is own but I don’t know how that would affect me because I’ve never had a girlfriend. But as far as disrespect, you definitely can’t deal with that. I work too hard and got too many other things going on to be in the mix of all of that. It’s hard to explain that my album didn’t get turned in because I’m going through it so you definitely gotta be on the same level and understand what’s going on. Being naive and agreeing to disagree is not gonna work. Make sure you’re on the same page.” (VIBE)

Recently, Diddy blamed his work ethic for keeping him from focusing on love.

“I’ve had a lot of success and I’ve had a lot of material things, but I’ve never conquered love,” he revealed in an interview. “I’ve never just had that always successful relationship. That’s due to the fact of me working and not paying attention to the girl, or me also feeling that the girl doesn’t appreciate me. And then I get a girl that really knows how to love me and I’ll press the self-destruct button because it makes me feel uncomfortable that she’s loving me so much.” (Parade)

Last year, Diddy said his “fear” had pushed him to cheat on women while in relationships.

“A couple years ago, my psychologist came to the conclusion that this is one of the big problems I have as far as maturing in a relationship,” Diddy explained in an interview. “After my father got killed, my mother said, ‘I’m never getting married again. I don’t want men around my children.’ So I’ve never actually been able to witness a husband and wife’s love. Sometimes when I see it with my friends, I just find myself staring like a child, because I’ve never actually seen it before. It’s one of the sad parts of my life. When a relationship gets to a certain point, I probably get scared and become a little self-destructive. [If caught cheating,] cry. It might not work, but it at least shows that you care. God d*mn, this is a deep interview. You didn’t ask Will Smith none of this sh*t! Yeah, it hurts me. One of my weaknesses is that I actually have a conscience.” (ELLE Magazine)

Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj previously opened up about placing music over a romantic relationship.

“I have no dating life, I can only hope and wish and imagine and fantasize,” she said in an interview. “They demand too much. In life there’s always going to be one thing that takes precedence, and when you’re as hungry as I am you have tunnel vision. So I can’t really cater to a dude right now — I love them and I think they’re cute, but I can’t do what they want me to do for them right now. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii. I really want to go there and just lay on the beach. Then, also, I could have the other rap girls feed me fruit–since they don’t have anything to do right now! [Laughs.] Strawberries, grapes, watermelon, and pineapple. I so know that part is going to make the interview.” (Complex)
