G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks has revealed the motivation and underlying theme behind his upcoming Lloyd-featured “Any Girl” music video.
According to Banks, the video draws inspiration from the 1990’s movie How To Be A Player.
“I’m running through my day-to-day going to see a few of my girls. I got a white girl, I got [a] Spanish girl, a black girl and I’m going to basically lie to them and tell them how much I love them and how much I want to see them,” Banks explained in an interview. However, after spending time maneuvering through his ladies, the MC has to eventually face the music. “The girl who’s playing my sister, she’s actually setting me up and she has these same girls coming to see me at the party.” (MTV)
In late July, Banks talked about filming the music video coming off the success of his “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” hit.
“I’ve been doing very well, I released a single, ‘Beamer, Benz, or Bentley,’ in February. I’m about to receive my gold plaque,” he said in an interview marked July 30th, 2010. “I’m also shooting a video for it tomorrow. My new single is “Any Girl.” I’m looking to drop my album, Hunger For More 2, in the 4th quarter.” (Houston Press)
Around mid-June, Lloyd talked about working with Banks on the record.
According to Lloyd, he would have never been able to work with an artist like Lloyd Banks, due to the ongoing feud between 50 Cent’s G-Unit and Irv Gotti‘s Murder Inc. collective of artists. “There was no hesitation on my part because we never had direct issues,” Lloyd said of his collaboration with Lloyd Banks. “We met for the first time in the studio and everything just clicked. It felt like it was our 10th song together.” (All Hip Hop)
In February, Banks hinted at having a mystery featured artist fans would have never guessed he would record with.
“I got another record that’s crazy, that’s getting ready to come in,” Banks told DJ Whoo Kid. “We gonna release that after, they ain’t ever gonna guess who the feature is with, but it’s crazy. Nah, it’s definitely crazy considering the events that took place in the past but I think it’s gonna be exciting, you know what I’m saying? And on top of that, it’s a good record, you know what I’m saying? All the BS to the side, it’s a very good record and I’m excited about it.” (Forbez DVD)
