The incident reportedly went down yesterday (July 13).

A man carrying a replica lightsaber infiltrated the set and screamed at cast members. Stars, including rapper LL Cool J, were shooting scenes for the hit U.S. show in Venice, California when an unidentified man swooped on the makeshift set with the weapon and began shouting at the cast and crew. Cops were later called onto the scene and promptly made an arrest.

It all went down in Venice, CA — where the troublemaker kept barging onto the set and yelling at the cast … while LL Cool J gave him a steady dose of the stink eye. After several interruptions, cops finally swooped in and put the guy in handcuffs so the crew could finish their shoot. We’re told the wannabe Jedi was eventually released — no charges will be filed. LL began filming his television show in spring 2009.

LL will play a tough but charming former Navy SEAL who works undercover for the NCIS unit in Los Angeles, California and is an expert on the Middle East. “NCIS” showrunner Shane Brennancreated the untitled spinoff and exec produces for CBS Paramount Network TV. Chris O’Donnell would play a chameleon-like investigator called Callen. He is written as an average guy born to do undercover work as the ultimate chameleon, taking on different identities. Earlier this year, the show was renewed by CBS.

The order for “NCIS: LA” is not a surprise given the show’s solid ratings and the fact that the crime procedural netted a record off-network syndication deal with USA Network seven weeks into its run. The LL Cool J-starring series, from executive producers Shane Brennan and R. Scott Gemmill, has averaged 16.8 million viewers and a 3.8 rating/10 share in adults 18-49. (The Hollywood Reporter)
