LL Cool J Hints At Big Plans After Burglar Takedown, “I Look Forward To LL Cool J Fans…”

Days after his publicized Los Angeles home burglary attempt, rap veteran LL Cool J is back to business, hinting at an upcoming new album.

Although brief with his words, LL revealed his anticipation for fans to hear new music from him.

“I look forward to LLCOOLJ fans hearing this new album.,” he tweeted August 25th. (LL Cool J’s Twitter)

Back in 2010, the former Def Jam staple detailed his disinterest in rushing out a new LP.

“I’m starting to think about it and I am going to do it,” he told Extra when asked about a possible musical comeback. “The key is for me is that when I do it, it has to be really important and it has to be something original. It can’t be me trying to sound like what’s acceptable because this is what is played on the radio today because that is so tired and boring and no one really cares about it…It has to be something with some substance and some depth…Until I can create that kind of record I’m not putting anything out. I don’t care how many years it takes.” (Music Rooms)

In June 2010, LL affirmed fan pressure would not control what type of records he made.

“I will take my time, and if it takes two more years, it will take two more years,” he said in an interview. “But it will be relevant for who I am at this point in my life as a human being. And those who want to hear it will be able to live with it and love it and those who can’t appreciate it because it doesn’t sound ‘pop’ enough, can absolutely ignore it. And I’m comfortable with that.” (Hip Hop N More)

Three years ago, LL hinted at possibly making a return after initially planning to make 2008’s Exit 13 his final LP .

“Two things, first of all, making albums is a way of expressing my creativity,” LL explained. “So I can express my creativity through business. I can express my creativity through my clothing line. I can express my creativity through the different ventures I have. I still wanna do live music and I still do live concerts so people will see me on tour. I’m just not running around looking for a record deal like ‘Please listen to my demo.’ [laughs] Like right now, that’s not what I want to do right now.” (“The View”)
