G-Unit's 50 Cent is not the only person interested in seeing Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan baring all as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner claims her new spread is breaking magazine sales.
According to Hefner, the issue is flying off newsstands throughout the United States.
Lindsay Lohan’s nude spread in the latest Playboy issue–which Hugh Hefner helpfully calls “a stocking stuffer” — hit newsstands nationwide last Friday, which leaves us wondering…. Are people paying to see her naked pictures? It certainly sounds like it. Regardless of the photos being leaked online and doubts about the mag’s sales, Hefner tweeted yesterday, “The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records,” which could make this Lohan’s comeback. Additional reports claim the sold out sales stem from popular markets including New York and Los Angeles.
CNN calls to a dozen newsstands in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Atlanta Sunday found just one that is sold out of the issue, and that store expected more to arrive Monday. Lohan, 25, was reportedly paid close to $1 million to pose for the photos taken in a style reminiscent of the nude photograph of Marilyn Monroe that graced the debut issue of Playboy in 1953. (CNN)
Last week, 50 Cent admitted his interest in peeping Lohan’s Playboy shots.
Rapper 50 Cent will probably take a minute to check out Lindsay Lohan’s nude pictorial for Playboy. “I haven’t seen it,” he tells Hollyscoop. “But I always wondered what Lindsay’s (private parts) looked like. Ever thought about it? I’ll check it out and see what happens. … $1 million to pose nude is the same thing strippers do almost every day for way less. If they give you a million dollars, does that change the status of what you’ve done? If I pay a hundred dollars … is it the same thing as paying a million dollars when you’re a movie star or celebrity? The same transaction? Or is it socially different? In light of a widespread leak, Lohan’s Playboy issue was released earlier than expected.
Now that Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy pics have leaked and everyone has seen and commented and pretty much been like, eh, whatever, she did the nude Marilyn Monroe thing in New York Magazine in 2008, the rag is trying to do damage control. Originally set for a cover reveal on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Dec. 15, Hugh Hefner has come up with a new plan. “Because of the interest & the Internet leak, we’re releasing the Lindsay Lohan issue early,” he Tweeted late yesterday. Instead of hitting shelves later this month, you can purchase your copy as soon as next week. “Lindsay Lohan was the top search name on the Internet yesterday. Her issue goes on sale late next week.
