Lil’ Wayne’s “Rebirth” Release Date Revealed

Multi-platinum selling rapper Lil’ Wayne has announced the release date for his forthcoming rock album Rebirth set for this spring.

A date and confirmation from Weezy’s camp was issued Friday (January 23).

Lil’ Wayne announced the official release date and title of his next album: Rebirth is due April 7 — and his publicist has confirmed to MTV News that it will be a rock album. The first single is called “Prom Queen” and will debut on the Internet right after a live stream of his concert in San Diego, California on January 27. The show will be available for stream on (MTV)

In a recent interview, the rapper’s protege Drake spoke on Weezy’s aim at dropping a rock project.

Drake says Weezy’s album will be a major musical departure, much like Kanye‘s latest. “It’s something different in just that whole 808’s and Hearbreaks, just throwing individuals off.” (MuchMusic)

His latest album, Tha Carter III, landed the rapper wide acclaim.

The self-proclaimed “Greatest Rapper Alive” holds the most nods in major categories with eight nominations including “Album of the Year” for his multi-platinum selling album Tha Carter III. (SOHH)
