With music producer Pharrell's hat still making major headlines since he attended the Grammys last month, SOHH reached out to Young Money fashion diva Shanell aka SnL for a take on its buzz.

While known for her own taste in orginality and standing out from the norm, Shanell fully co-signed Skateboard P’s headwear.

“Isn’t that crazy,” Shanell playfully asked SOHH in reference to the attention Pharrell has sparked from the hat. “I love it. I feel like whether you’re digging Pharrell or you’re a normal high school student, do what you want to do. If you want to wear two different shoes then do it. If you want to wear eight different colors then do it. It’s an expression of who he is and how he’s feeling at the time. You might look back at yourself and be like, ‘That was so crazy’ or ‘I was so fly.’ It’s you and you’re getting to express yourself. It’s not easy for a lot of people to express themselves because everybody’s trying to fit in. If you have the strength and the balls to be yourself, then do it.” (SOHH)

Shanell also dished out the story behind her now-iconic nose ring.

“I keep a lot of very creative people around me,” Shanell added. “I think we kind of give each other ideas, just trying different things and it’s not even on purpose. I don’t know, it’s not like I look for the next thing to wear. Like with my nose ring, I was on tour and working with a stylist who used to make jewelry. We were just trying different things and it actually hooked onto my nose a bit, this thing she had gave me accidentally hooked onto my nose ring and I was like, ‘You know what? Can you make one like that?’ and it’s been one of the things I’ve liked and I just stuck with it. A lot of people, when they see me without it, it’s like my Superman cape. They’re like, ‘Where’s your nose ring?’ [laughs] When I’m at the gym, I’m not going to be wearing rings and jewelry while I’m doing push-ups and sit-ups. [laughs]” (SOHH)

According to reports, Skateboard P’s hat is currently up for grabs on digital retailer eBay.

Williams is auctioning off the massive Vivienne Westwood hat on eBay, and the highest bid is already at $10,500! The eBay listing reads: “Now is your chance to own a piece of pop culture history! Bid on Pharrell Williams’ Vivienne Westwood ‘Mountain’ hat that was one of the biggest hits of the 2014 GRAMMY Awards.” The hat also comes with a “Letter of Authenticity.” The bidding continues through March 2, with all proceeds benefiting From One Hand to Another, Pharrell’s charity to help underserved youth. Instead of hyping up the situation, Williams recently downplayed the interest his hat had generated.

“I was just wearing a hat. Trust me, if I knew what it was going to do, you just never know those things. It’s just pure extinct. Some people like it and some people are like, ‘What is that?’ But at the end of the day, I sleep good, I rest good knowing that it’s just me expressing myself. I just don’t understand people who live in a box and are really comfortable saying, ‘Me too.’ It’s so weird to me.” (“Big Boy’s Neighborhood”)
