Official reports say that Wayne will not return to court until Monday March 8.

Lil Wayne’s sentencing has been delayed yet again. Now, the rapper will appear before a judge on Monday and turn himself in to begin his one-year prison sentence. The rapper was scheduled to appear in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday, but a fire at the New York Criminal Court building delayed his hearing. A spokesperson for the Office of Court Administration told MTV News Wednesday morning (March 3) that Lil Wayne’s case has be rescheduled for Monday, March 8. (MTV)

Wayne has been spending his free time performing and working in the studio.

The Fireman’s still free. For a second day, Manhattan Criminal Court remains closed following yesterday’s fire. According to the District Attorney’s office, Wayne won’t have to appear before the judge until Monday at 2:15 p.m. After performing at the Garden last night, Scoob Doo snapped the above pic of Weezy in his second home: The studio. Wayne was expected to be sentenced yesterday afternoon.

Carter was scheduled to be sentenced and jailed on Tuesday afternoon, but the sentencing may be rescheduled Wednesday, according to Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon. The courthouse at 100 Centre Street was closed Tuesday after a fire broke out in the basement around 10:30 a.m. Court employees speculated that the courthouse could also be closed on Wednesday, if not longer. The delay now marks his second within a month.

Earlier this afternoon, hip-hop’s most beloved rapper Lil Wayne arrived from Miami in New York City via private jet for his formal sentencing on weapons charges. After three weeks of delay to get some serious dental work done (eight root canals in one day — as real as it gets), Lil Wayne is set to officially begin his sentence at one of the country’s most notorious jails. Although a fire in the courthouse will delay the procedure by one more day, Wayne is sure to be an inmate imminently. (MTV)

No further details have been revealed as of now.
