In addition to Wayne’s release, Gucci Mane and Lil Boosie efforts are also set to chart.

Lil Wayne’s 10-track digital-only release for Cash Money/Universal Motown, I Am Not a Human Being, with the physical album coming out Oct. 12 shows first-week digital sales are projected to be in the 90-100k range. Asylum rapper Gucci Mane’s third album, The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted, is next up, with a total that looks to be between 60-65k. Asylum’s Baton Rouge rapper Lil’ Boosie, currently under indictment for first-degree murder and serving a four-year term for gun and drug possession, with his aptly named new album, Incarcerated, should sell 25-30k. Lench Mob OG rapper Ice Cube‘s I Am the West, his first since 2008’s Raw Footage, is in the mix for 24-27k. (Hits Daily Double)

Wayne’s album was released on his 28th birthday this past Monday.

Lil Wayne, the Louisiana rapper in jail on a weapons charge, turns 28 today. For today’s music, here’s a listen of Lil Wayne’s hit “Lollipop” to start off the week in a decadent Las Vegas party, heavy guitar riff kind of way. Also today, Lil Wayne released his latest album “I Am Not a Human Being,” online. Songs from the album have been leaked on to the Web for the past few weeks. Non-digital stores will have to wait two more weeks before they can sell the album, which has some brick-and-mortar record shops angry at the rapper for leaving them out of the initial release sales. The digital release also reportedly upset retailers which profit from selling physical copies.

Lil Wayne is giving himself a nice birthday present on Monday (Sept. 27), but brick-and-mortar merchants haven’t been invited to the party. The rapper will release his next album, “I Am Not A Human Being,” initially through digital channels only, with the physical release coming out two weeks later on Oct. 12. The physical album will have 12 tracks, two more than the digital release. Most brick-and-mortar merchants are upset by the move and worry that putting a digital release out early could turn into a trend. “Its disturbing,” says one merchant. “Its definitely putting brick-and-mortar second, and we are going to lose business that we would normally get. How is the consumer going to know that the album will have a second physical release?” (Billboard)

The project features guest appearances by Drake, Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean and more.
