According to one day estimates, Wayne is likely to re-debut atop the sales charts.

The physical version of Lil Wayne’s Cash Money/Universal Motown effort, I Am Not a Human Being, hit retail yesterday, and is on its way to first-week sales of 85-90k, making it a probable #1 on next Tuesday’s HITS Album sales chart. That’s based on those music retailers who haven’t been trapped in a Chilean coal mine for the last two months. (Hits Daily Double)

The album will also be packaged with a video game at Best Buy outlets.

Every customer who picks up the video game Def Jam Rapstar will receive a copy of Lil Wayne’s new album. The rapper, currently in jail on gun charges, has teamed up with Def Jam and 4mm Games to distribute his new album “I Am Not Human” to customers who purchase the rap karaoke game from retailer Best Buy from Oct. 12 – Oct. 19. Wayne’s original digital release reportedly upset retailers which profit from selling physical copies.

Lil Wayne is giving himself a nice birthday present on Monday (Sept. 27), but brick-and-mortar merchants haven’t been invited to the party. The rapper will release his next album, “I Am Not A Human Being,” initially through digital channels only, with the physical release coming out two weeks later on Oct. 12. The physical album will have 12 tracks, two more than the digital release. Most brick-and-mortar merchants are upset by the move and worry that putting a digital release out early could turn into a trend. “Its disturbing,” says one merchant. “Its definitely putting brick-and-mortar second, and we are going to lose business that we would normally get. How is the consumer going to know that the album will have a second physical release?” (Billboard)

For the past two weeks, Wayne’s digital version has remained on the sales charts.

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being fell hard dropping 14 positions to No. 16 with 23,100. After one week, the rapper’s digital-only release has pushed out 133,400 units. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
