Less than 48 hours after rap star Lil Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being II received a release date, the upcoming solo effort has already received its first pushback.
While not major, Weezy F. Baby fans will now have to wait closer to the winter holidays to get their hands on a copy.
Well, that didn’t take long. Just days after a November date was announced, Lil Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being II already has a new release date. The album, previously due November 13, is now scheduled to arrive just in time for the holidays on December 11, Rap-Up.com has learned. Weezy is no stranger to setbacks. His album Tha Carter IV was pushed back numerous times before it finally dropped in August 2011. The sequel to 2010’s I Am Not a Human Being features the singles “My Homies Still” with Big Sean and the Detail-assisted “No Worries.” (Rap-Up)
Earlier in the week, reports claimed the retail project would arrive before Thanksgiving.
There’s only about two months left before the wait is finally over. Lil Wayne has confirmed that his 10th solo album I Am Not A Human Being II will be released before the year’s end. The new project is scheduled to drop on November 13. Wayne released the first installation of this album series while serving his time at Rikers Island in New York for a gun charge, and he admits that it forced him to rush recording. (RapFix)
Back in June, Weezy F. Baby announced the album’s completion after months of anticipation.
“I Am Not A Human Being II, that’s what I’m workin’ on right now, actually I’m finished. The difference between [this] album and the last I Am Not a Human Being would be the music wasn’t rushed,” Wayne told MTV News on June 16 in Atlanta after he finished performing at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash. “Last time the music was rushed because I had to take that eight-month vacation on that island so we had rushed the music, but this time we didn’t rush the music.” (MTV)
Over the winter, Cash Money Records boss Birdman promised the album would hit retail outlets before summer.
“Wayne’s got an album he’s about to drop real soon. Its called I am not a Human Being 2. It’s gonna be before the summer for sure. We haven’t picked the date yet. Whenever he’s ready to drop his album, we’re gonna make it do what it do. He’s definitely got an album done and ready to go. Wayne works a lot. There’s no telling [if Rebirth 2 will happen]. But I know for sure we’ve got I Am Not A Human Being 2 ready to go. That’s the next project.” (Complex)
