According to Young Money president Mack Maine, Brett made sure to pass a message on to Wayne.

“He’s loving that,” Maine said of Wayne’s feelings about Favre’s decision to play his 20th year in the league. “That gives [Wayne] more incentive to watch this year, because that’s his favorite player. Shout-out to Brett too. Brett reached out, and he made sure I told Wayne that. That was the first thing [Brett] asked when he got back to camp, really. [Vikings tackle] Bryant McKinnie is one of our friends, B-Mac. [Favre] asked B-Mac, ‘How you been?’ B-Mac answered. And he was like, ‘How’s Wayne?’ That was his second question to B-Mac. Those two are real good friends. He said, ‘Let [Wayne] know I been praying for him and send him my love.’ So I let Wayne know that. He said, ‘You just brightened my spirits up for the rest of the month.’ He was real excited.” (MTV)

Prior to last winter’s Super Bowl win by the New Orleans Saints, Wayne said he believed Favre’s Vikings would make a run to the annual championship.

“I’m rooting for Brett because I’m a diehard,” Weezy explained to us early Thursday (January 21). A signed Favre football is one of the prize possessions in Weezy’s extensive sports memorabilia collection. Lil Wayne is predicting a Vikings victory against New Orleans because of Minnesota’s superior running game compared to a relatively weak Saints team who are not great against the run. “I believe the Vikings will win because of the running attack,” Wayne assessed. “The Saints give up about 150 rushing yards a game, and the Vikings have arguably the best running back in the game [Adrian Peterson].” (Now Public)

Still awaiting an early November release for his gun conviction, Wayne has kept fans up-to-date with his prison experience through occasional blogs.

“Well ain’t nothing going on in here but the time, which seems like it’s taking forever,” Wayne wrote in his new blog entry titled Just Another Day. “I’m trying to make the most out of every second tho, mentally. There’s some pretty cool people in here. Even though this isn’t a cool place to be. I’ve learned plenty already and the best lesson is to not come back. Last night, I kicked a** in UNO! Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Just thought I’d let y’all know. Gotta stay hydrated. Though it’s hot, I still work out. Now don’t be expecting me to look like Hercules when I get out, but I should be a little bulky. I guess. Anyways, please remember to always check for your name in the “thank yous”. I’m always reading letters and responding…” (Weezy Thanx You)

Last month, Wayne gave his first Rikers Island radio interview to New York radio host Funkmaster Flex.

“I’ll definitely move more carefully,” Wayne told radio personality Funkmaster Flex about precautions he will take after leaving Rikers Island in November. “Everybody says you’re here for a reason, so, I promise you Flex, I try to find that reason everyday. I think when I get out, that’ll be the only time I’ll know the answer…[I’m Not A Human Being EP] will drop before Tha Carter IV, only on the Internet. It’s stuff I recorded right before I came in. I don’t want thephone to hang-up on us so I want to say thank-you to all my fans and I love you Flex for giving me this opportunity…” (In Flex We Trust)
