Weezy F. Baby showed no affection toward the player and publicly called him out via Twitter this week.

Following the massive press, Cooper has reportedly been excused from Eagles activities.

Two days after Cooper was fined for his racially insensitive comment made at a Kenny Chesney concert, the Eagles wide receiver on Friday decided to step away from the team. “Right now, I think it’s important for me to take some time to reflect on this situation,” Cooper said in a statement released by the team. “The organization and my teammates have been extremely supportive, but I also realize that there are people who will have a tough time forgiving me for what I’ve done. The best thing for me, and for the team, is to step away for a period of time. (NFL)

The Eagles organization has also issued a statement on the headline-generating story.

“As we have said, Riley Cooper will be seeking counseling and we have excused him from all team activities. This is all new territory and we are going to evaluate this timetable every step of the way. He will meet with professionals provided by the Eagles during this period of time to better help him understand how his words have hurt so many, including his teammates.” (Statement)

Cooper turned into a household name earlier this week when footage of him dropping the racist term scattered across the Internet.

Receiver Riley Cooper spent much of Thursday’s practice standing alone, isolated from teammates when he wasn’t participating in first-team repetitions. He has learned acceptance won’t come easily from everyone in the Philadelphia Eagles’ locker room — starting with Cary Williams. Cooper, who has apologized after being caught on video using a racial slur in an argument with an African-American security guard at a June concert, has been fined an undisclosed amount by the team and ordered by the organization to undergo sensitivity training.
