With Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV album merely weeks away from hitting store shelves, producer Swizz Beatz has confirmed his contribution to the long-awaited LP.

After hinting at the record last fall, Beatz confirmed that a track entitled “Ann” would appear on Weezy’s upcoming LP.

“He has so many songs on the radio and to separate from that and really do something that stands out, I feel where I stand is something that is conceptual,” explained Swizz in an interview. “The song is called ‘Ann,’ and ‘Ann’ is like a letter to ‘Stan.’ It’s a spin-off of the [Eminem] joint, but it’s from [Wayne’s] perspective. With me and Wayne, you never know — [He’ll] pop up and be like, ‘Yo, I’m mixing this one and this one and this one. I’ll be all right. Let’s dance.'” (RapFix)

Last September, Swizzy hinted at a “Stan” re-incarnation track in the works for Wayne.

“Off my album, there was a lot of controversy over this before. The Eminem album before [Recovery], Relapse, I submitted a beat to him called ‘Stan 2.’ When I was doing an interview and they said, ‘What you working on?’ [Em] was amongst the people in the lineup I submitted things for. I said, ‘I did a track for Eminem called ‘Stan 2.’ So it got out of hand in the media. He didn’t want to do ‘Stan 2.’ But what I have on my album is a song called ‘Ann’ with Wayne, which is crazy. To connect the story of what we saying with Snoop, taking something that people remember and putting them in that time and taking it to the next level, the way that Wayne tells ‘Anne,’ he’s sorry what happened to Stan. The album is crazy.” (MTV)

Producer David Banner is also expected to have a presence on the upcoming project.

“I did about 12 [songs for Wayne]. One thing I respected about Wayne this time, Wayne didn’t allow me to go all over the place. Wayne told me, ‘Banner, this is exactly what I’m looking for. I know you want to be creative, I know you want to do this, but right now, for the stuff that I have already done on the album, this is the lane that I need.’ And I super-served that. [The lane was] just bangers. Nothing that you really have to think about. I’m talking straight, in your face bangers.” (Complex)

Last week, Weezy promised he will deliver a surprise on his Carter IV.

During the concert he also treated the hundreds of fans who packed a soundstage at Sony Studios to a track off his highly anticipated disc, “Tha Carter IV,” with a performance of “Nightmares of the Bottom,” where he reflected on his troubles — with a bit of humor. He’s tight-lipped about the disc, which was pushed back to a June 21 release, but did offer a cryptic teaser when asked about it. “Just know that I have a pleasant surprise. A very pleasant surprise for this album when it comes out,” he said. “I’m only doing this for the fans. Which I do every … thing for.” (Los Angeles Times)

Tha Carter IV is currently set to hit stores Tuesday, June 21st.
