Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has provided an update on his long-awaited Tha Carter V solo album and explained why a release date is not yet attached to it. #shutupalready
According to Weezy F. Baby, he hasn’t felt an urge to rush the LP onto store shelves.
“Carter V is coming soon. When? I don’t know,” Wayne explained in a video. “Don’t ask me. Don’t ask me why it’s taking so long. I don’t know. I’ve just been chilling. I don’t know. But, the tour is coming. Drake versus Lil Wayne. Be looking for that. You already know.” (Weezy Wednesdays)
Wayne recently provided some behind-the-scenes footage to his upcoming “Krazy” music video.
Drawing inspiration from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, director Colin Tilley strapped a straight jacket on Wayne and turned the whole set into an insane asylum. “I’m not talking about being crazy in the song, I’m just talking about being me, and a lot of people view that as crazy so we just wanted to capture that and have fun with it,” Lil Wayne says about the song and video. Despite previously claiming Carter V would be his last album, Wayne recently said fans could now expect at least one more release from him.
“This year, not only will I be dropping Tha Carter V — I’m dropping two albums,” Wayne said in a video. “This year, looking forward to two albums from me because I been out the game for a second. … Honestly, the reason why it became two albums is because I went to work on Tha Carter V and I don’t stop working. So it’s either Carter V would be 93 songs, or we’re gonna have to figure this out.” (Weezy Wednesdays)
Last month, Cash Money head Birdman gave his personal co-sign for C5.
