Recalling performing the first night of their “I Am Still Music” tour, Wayne reflected on taking in Minaj’s greatness.

“I really didn’t get on my knees to give praise, but then I remembered we had a crowd out there,” Wayne playfully told Mixtape Daily. “I got on my knees to do something totally different, but I was like, we got a crowd out there, so let me just give praise…I promise to God, you know what I thought about? When I saw her up there just walking and everybody singing her stuff and she making all those facial expressions, I was just like, I remember watching that [Come Up] DVD … When shorty was in the tub. I remember watching that and where she came from and just to know that not that I did that, that she did that. I mean, it’s a beautiful thing.” (Mixtape Daily)

In March, Wayne credited Minaj’s show-and-prove mentality for helping her succeed.

“I can’t front, I just thought she was going to be the new female MC that none of these other female MCs can touch,” Wayne said about Nicki. “But now, she’s blossomed into a megastar with this new attitude and this style. Now when I talk to her, I just tell her, ‘Do what you do, baby.’ I used to be able to go into the studio and say, ‘Nah, don’t say that, don’t say that.’ You know, ‘That was better.’ Now, do what you do, baby. I don’t have a clue about what you’re doing right now, but it’s working, do it.” (MTV)

Last February, Minaj revealed her intent to collaborate with Wayne on his upcoming Tha Carter IV solo album.

“Of course, if Wayne would have me, yes,” Minaj told Tim Westwood when asked if she will appear on Tha Carter IV. “I think that’s going to be very anticipated. I think it’s already being anticipated. His beat selection alone is going to friggin’ kill. I’ve already heard a couple of the beats, in fact, the other day, I went to tell this producer, ‘Yo, hold that beat for me.’ And he said, Wayne already took it. And it hurt my heart, I was like, ‘Errr’. But yeah, he’s snatching them up. He’s ready. I cannot wait. I’m just, I’m proud of him. I’m super proud of him.” (“Tim Westwood TV”)

Aside from the music, Minaj recently treated her boss to an on-stage lap dance.

Nicki Minaj usually treats one male fan to a lap dance during her concerts, but the crowd was in for a surprise when that man happened to be Lil Wayne. Young Money’s First Lady (and her jaw-dropping booty) danced up on a grinning Weezy during the “I Am Music II” tour stop at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum on Sunday (March 27). He was so overcome by the experience that he eventually fell out of his chair. Now that’s a moment for life. (Rap-Up)
