In the video, Wayne directs his attention specifically to his loyal fan base.

Though Lil Wayne has kept relatively quiet following his release from jail, the prolific rapper spoke out to share his love for his fans. Weezy recently recorded a “thank you” video for his Facebook friends, appearing on camera rocking boxy shades and a skull cap to express his gratitude for the support. “I’m talking to all my Facebook friends. I think it’s like 14 million of y’all. Just know that’s 14 million thanks yous to y’all,” he said. “Everyone from WeezyThanxYou, you already know I love you. Thanks for the support. Couldn’t do it without you and I won’t do it without you. Love. Young Mulah, baby.” (Rap-Up)

Over the weekend, Wayne also stressed the importance of a strong fan base.

“I just wanna thank everybody,” he told us before his welcome-home party in Miami. “Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn’t do it without them and I would never do it without them.” (MTV)

Following his release from jail last week, the rapper headed to Las Vegas for a surprise performance.

Last night, Drake performed the last show of his Light Dreams and Nightmares tour in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel. Tyga, Lloyd and Birdman were a few of the guests in attendance. With Lil Wayne fresh out of jail, there were rumors and speculation that he would be performing at this show. No one had an answer until Drake performed “Miss Me” and Lil Wayne ran out to join him on stage. (Karen Civil)

Wayne eventually settled down with a “Welcome Home” event in Miami.

After taking in the Hornets-Heat game in New Orleans and performing with Drake in Las Vegas, Weezy capped off his first weekend back home in Miami. His CMYMB family including Drizzy, a teal-haired Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, Shanell and Kevin Rudolf celebrated at the retrofitted bank, along with Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, T-Pain, Wale, D. Woods and Cool & Dre. The guest of honor arrived with a cigar in hand and two showgirls flanking him on each arm. (Rap-Up)
