Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne reportedly became teary eyed this week after a prankster attacked his afterparty with pepper spray in the air ducts.
According to reports, the attack took place during a party in Montreal, Canada.
Lil Wayne was attacked with pepper spray last night in Canada — after some jerk snuck into his afterparty and put the excruciating substance in the air ducts. It all went down last night at a club in Montreal called La Mouche — where Weezy washosting the afterparty for his show. We’re told some jacka** snuck into the back room and unleashed the chemical into theventilation system — and everyone had to be evacuated, including Weezy. So far, it’s unclear if police are investigating — but a rep for Lil Wayne says the rapper is “okay and gearing for his next stop in Toronto.” (TMZ)
While he did not mention the attack, Weezy has confirmed his time in Montreal this week.
“Montreal was simply the best. Nuff said!,” he tweeted August 18th. (Lil Wayne’s Twitter)
Outside of touring, Wayne recently addressed his plans to possibly retire after releasing Tha Carter IV later this month.
“I’m not sure; I’m not gonna Brett Favre y’all,” Wayne said referring to the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who finally handed the NFL his walking papers in January after years of talking about it. “I’m not gonna draw it all the way out the whole year: ‘We wondering, is Wayne gonna do this?’ But the honest answer is I don’t know…I’m so settled in my life right now. I have my kids; they’re wonderful. My daughter has her career ahead of her now. I have to focus on that, and I have to put the same focus that I put in my career.” (MTV)
In his XXL July/August cover story, Wayne discussed his motivation to retire at an early age.
The Young Money leader also revealed to XXL that he plans to retire soon and hints at C4 possibly being his last offering. “I’m bowing out still on top,” he says. “I’ma make y’all want me when I retire. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’ I ain’t leaving out this b*tch when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ Carter IV might be my last one. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘F*ck!’ Yeah, n*gga, I’m gone.” (XXL Mag)
