Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has finally penciled in a release date for his long-awaited I Am Not A Human Being II album after multiple setbacks.
According to Weezy F. Baby, the LP is currently slated to hit store shelves in late winter.
“February 19, that’s the official date,” Wayne told Sway Calloway during the “MTV First” premiere of his “No Worries” music video, adding that he plans to hit the road with his crew for a world tour right after the LP hits stores. “I’m gonna tour right after the album drops and I’m gonna tour all year round worldwide,” Wayne said, adding that he hasn’t selected his opening lineup just yet. “It never matters. [It’s just] whoever wants to roll with me.” (MTV)
Reports of its pushback from mid-December surfaced online a couple weeks ago.
It’s been a busy year in the courtroom for Weezy, who previously settled lawsuits from producers David Kirkwood and Deezle over production royalties from “Tha Carter III.” And in bad news for Wayne fans, his “I Am Not a Human Being 2″ album has been pushed from its Dec. 11 release date — it’s now expected in 2013. The album, a sequel to his 2010 release, has been pushed before, with a previously scheduled release date in November. (Billboard)
A few weeks ago, Wayne hinted at what big features will make the album.
“Production on the album — I got people like Juicy J, Cool & Dre, David Banner on down to uh — I mean it’s so many, shoot,” the YMCMB boss told MTV News Thursday in Las Vegas. The “No Worries” rapper took a moment to remember all the hitmakers who will contribute to his upcoming long player before rattling off names like Streetrunner and finally [Kanye West]. “Yeah he got some music on there,” Wayne confirmed. “It’s crazy, actually I don’t want to give too much up but he’s got a big hand in the album, you’ll see.” (MTV)
Prior to getting pushed back to next year, I Am Not A Human Being‘s follow-up received a December release.
Well, that didn’t take long. Just days after a November date was announced, Lil Wayne’s I Am Not a Human Being II already has a new release date. The album, previously due November 13, is now scheduled to arrive just in time for the holidays on December 11, Rap-Up.com has learned. Weezy is no stranger to setbacks. His album Tha Carter IV was pushed back numerous times before it finally dropped in August 2011. The sequel to 2010’s I Am Not a Human Being features the singles “My Homies Still” with Big Sean and the Detail-assisted “No Worries.” (Rap-Up)
