Lil Wayne Delivers Roc-Hard Blow To Birdman W/ Jay Z Announcement [Video]

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne is finally throwing up the Roc. The hip-hop veteran has – once again – announced his alignment with music mogul Jay Z‘s star-studded entertainment company.

New footage has surfaced of Weezy F. Baby breaking the news to University in Pennsylvania concertgoers.

“Is it cool if I just say it? It’s the Roc,” Wayne said. “You know I’m a member of that team now.” After sharing the news, Wayne put up the Roc’s diamond hand sign before launching back into his performance. Wayne has been contemplating a deal with Jay Z for years, dating back to the days of Roc-A-Fella Records. XXL has reached out to Roc Nation for comment. (XXL Mag)

Back in January, Wayne hinted at something stirring with the Jigga Man.

During his appearance at the first “LIV on Sunday’s” of 2017, Tunechi was spotted jamming out to his “Burn” freestyle off Dedication 4 (I forgot how dope this song is) and throwing up the ROC sign. Weezy also got on the mic to shout “when you see me it’s Y-M-R-O-C” and “triangle”, which I would presume is for the ROC hand sign. (Lil Wayne HQ)

Last year, reports surfaced about Cash Money boss Birdman having issues with Wayne publicly shouting out Jay.

Sources close to the situation tell us … lawyers for the 2 camps were close to reaching a deal — one meeting away, in fact — when Wayne publicly dissed Birdman by changing the lyrics in “I’m Me” from a Cash Money shout-out to a Jay Z shout-out. We’re told Birdman has his own beef with Jay, which made Wayne’s diss sting even more. Lil Wayne’s “Suck my d***!” at that same show didn’t help either — so he pulled the plug on negotiations. (TMZ)

In November 2016, Weezy F. Baby shocked fans by hinting at a possible Jay Z situation going down during a live concert.

  1. Roc Nation is a management firm. He is only changing his management which is what any artist on any record label can do. The record label can either manage you and/or find a way to distribute your music/art. He doesn’t need Cash Money as they are mishandling his payments. Quite simple really. This article is bad journalism coupled with no commonsense at it’s finest.

  2. Roc Nation is not just a management firm they have artist they manage and artist they have signed to them as a record label. N
