According to Maine, he sat alongside Wayne and his mother when the hard-hitting initial reports started spreading last week.

“I was actually sitting right next to him, honestly, when it happened, and his mom was in the other room, and his face dropped,” Young Money president Mack Maine told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway when he appeared on Wednesday’s (March 20) “RapFix Live.” “I just saw it in his face, like, ‘I can’t believe that.’ … A lot of blogs and stuff put out some foolishness, but that wasn’t true. He has four kids. Imagine his daughter hearing that somewhere in school or something like that, so he wasn’t too happy about that.” (MTV)

He also provided a brief update on Weezy’s well-being since he left the hospital a few days ago.

“He’s blessed, he’s up, he’s in good spirits, and we’d like to thank all the fans for the prayers. A lot of people reached out and showed love, but Wayne’s at home, he’s relaxing,” he said, assuring the public that all is well. “He’s actually been in good health for a minute. They just wanted to run a few tests on him, that’s why they kept him longer than expected, but he’s been good.” (MTV)

Earlier this week, Mack took aim at a particular blog for working up a scare over his friend’s condition.

“Just to clear the air about Wayne. Wayne is great, Wayne is in great health. God is good,” Maine said. “I wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t in great health. Honestly. He’s watching games right now, he’s enjoying life, he’s ready to get home, talk to his kids, chill with his kids and come back for the fans and we appreciate all the prayers. … The blog with the three letters, y’all wack. I just got to say that live on-air. You need to be shut down. Don’t play with people’s health.” (“106 & Park”)

Tuesday (March 19) night, Wayne hopped onto his Twitter to thank fans for their support.

“Watching Highly Questionable on ESPN2 & Papi got me kry’n laughing in dis b!t[#,” Wayne tweeted March 19th.

“I’m feeling a lot better and again thk u all for ur love and prayers. It was truly felt…pause” (Lil Wayne’s Twitter)
