Introduced on stage by Drizzy, Wayne expressed his love for the rapper’s “Shot for Me” record.

While touring in Africa, Lil Wayne took decided to sing his favorite verse from Take Care alongside Drake. Weezy proclaims that the verse is in fact his favorite off of Drizzy’s sophomore album. The vocals weren’t exactly those of say, an American Idol finalist but I guess rappers can sing whenever they want these days when they’ve achieved that superstar status. “I want you to make some noise for the greatest rapper alive,” Drake said introducing Lil Wayne. “Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you,” Wayne said. “Excuse me, this is about to be a real fan moment so I’m going to do it right in front of y’all. N*gga, I listen to that album so much that it’s this one song, it’s like you knew my life when you did this song.” (The Source)

Prior to its release, Weezy labeled Drake’s sophomore LP as better than his platinum-selling Tha Carter IV album.

“I actually haven’t got a chance to listen to all of it, but I heard a few songs,” Wayne told MTV News while on the set for Birdman’s “Y.U. Mad” video in Miami. Weezy has never been shy with his “Best Rapper Alive” boasts, but when it comes to Drake and his new album, he plays second fiddle. “I can tell, you know, I don’t know nothing else out there that can touch it, including my stuff. That kid is on another planet,” he said. (MTV)

Just last month, Drake killed rumors suggesting a beef brewing between him and Wayne.

“I’ll tell you, if you ever wake up in the morning and you think Young Money ain’t my team, you out of your motherf*cking mind,” Drake told a crowd of screaming fans. “I’ll tell you that right now. My brother Lil Wayne is all the way in Australia right now but I got my camera on in the back and I just want to let him know how much love me and Hartford got for him, so if you got love for Lil Wayne, make some noise.” (YouTube)

To date, the rapper’s latest album has sold over 1.2 million copies.

Leading the pack this week is Young Money star Drake, as Take Care jumps three slots to No. 2 with 71,600 behind Adele’s 21 (144,200). According to Nielsen SoundScan, Drizzy’s sophomore album has sold 1,246,800 units after seven weeks in stores. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
