Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne recently stepped forward to decode his new "D'usse" track and, notably, why he shouted out one-time rap rival Jay Z on the record. #HovTheGreat
Instead of dancing around the question, Weezy F. Baby gushed over Jigga’s greatness.
“Hov is the god — I’ll give Hov a big shout out at all times,” Wayne told MTV News on the set of his “Krazy” video in LA this week. “But we was just on that D’usse heavy. I don’t write none of my music — I don’t write it down, so I just go in there and say whatever come to my mind.” “So what came to my mind that night, was what was on my mind that night,” he added, laughing. Prior to unleashing his verse, Waynea acknowledged Young Hov with a quick shout-out.
“This motherf*ckin’ D’usse got me sweatin’ and sh*t…,” Wayne says during the song’s intro. “Word to God. Hov, f*ck with ya boy. C5.” (“D’Usse”)
Back in May 2012, buzz about Jay getting behind D’usse surfaced online.
Looks like Jay-Z may be expanding his empire to include cognac. Last night in New York at an ultra private event he helped introduce D’usse (pronounced “dew-say”) a cognac being produced by Bacardi that is expected to compete with Hennessy. Don’t worry, you won’t have to break the bank to drink this stuff it will go for $44.99 for a 750-ml bottle – but don’t be surprised if there is a super expensive version. In April, Jay relied on the cognac as a refreshment for a Roc Nation Sports celebration in New York.
