In addition to revealing album details, Scrappy also explained his falling out with Lil Jon which prompted Luda to sign him.

“[Luda’s manager] Chaka [Zulu] was a fan,” Scrappy explained in an interview. “Every time we would pass each other, they always showed love, I always showed love…And then one day, they didn’t hear me anymore. So they were like, ‘We have the machine that he needs.’ My whole problem is that I was never with a good machine. Everybody thought I was with a good machine just because Lil Jon was doing his thing when I first came out. But Jon was only worried about Jon. And when Lil Jon fell off, he didn’t worry about helping nobody else…I’m done with [my album]. I’m 100 percent done with it. I got Gucci Mane on the album, Diamond, Luda, Trey Songz, Pleasure P and Maino. Luda is on the first single, called ‘Addicted to Money,’ produced by The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. It’s called The Grustle — grind and hustle! I been grinding and hustling the whole time. (Vibe)

DTP co-CEO Jeff Dixon previously confirmed Scrappy’s addition to the label along with why the emcee was chosen.

“We’re just excited to sign him because he’s been in the game for a long time and he never got the shot he needed to get,” Dixon said. “He has exciting music….He brings another dynamic to our label. We’re adding another dimension.” Dixon said Scrappy’s next album, on which Ludacris will serve as a co-executive producer, should be out sometime in September. This summer, Scrappy could be featured on a probable DTP tour. Until then, Scrap will be dropping mixtapes, appearing on albums from Luda and DTP labelmate Willy Northpole and shooting a film. (MTV)

Luda publicly endorsed Scrappy as an official member of DTP earlier this year in Georgia.

Word on the streets net, former Lil Jon weedcarrier, Lil Scrappy is the newest member of Ludacris’ label, Disturbin’ Tha Peace. Luda brought Scrappy out during the Swagga Like Us concert in Atlanta over the weekend, and he announced it then, so it must be true. But then again, these rappers are always lying about something, so you just never know. (Ozone Magazine)

He also made the announcement via his Twitter page last April.

“Big show in Atlanta today at Philips Arena,” Luda wrote. “If you don’t have your tickets you’re about to miss out!!! Surprises galore…Just got off stage at Philips Arena in ATL. If you missed it, myself, T.I. and [Young] Jeezy all on stage for the first time. Lil Scrappy is DTP.” (Ludacris’ Twitter)

A release date for The Gustle has not yet been announced.
