New York rapper Lil Mama upset fans at a concert held recently in her hometown, which resulted in getting booed on-stage during her performance.
According to reports, the incident occurred the day before Christmas Eve.
Lil Mama acted as the special guest during Chris Brown‘s ‘All Black Christmas Extravaganza,’ on Thursday (Dec. 23). Although her set seemed to have started off well, the restless crowd stopped showing her love once she began to freestyle. “Excitement comes in so many different forms,” she told the audience in an attempt to calm them down. “Once you lose something that’s pure and as deep as your mother, nothing can’t faze you,” she said, referencing her mother who succumbed to breast cancer in 2007. “I love ya’ll and the same ni—s that hate me, made me great B!” (The Boom Box)
The concert took place at New York’s Webster Hall.
It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Lil’ Mama, but the “Lip Gloss” rapper popped up for a performance at Chris Brown’s “All Black Christmas Extravaganza” at Webster Hall in NYC on Thursday night, looking grown up with a short pixie haircut. Breezy, who hosted the holiday gig, was snapped getting down to Mama’s music from the balcony. (Rap-Up)
Aside from performing, Mama previously spoke with SOHH about joining television show, “America’s Best Dance Crew”.
“At this time in my life, when I’m dealing with issues like losing my mom and being away from my family so much, being on the road, I could’ve said no to a deal like [America’s Best Dance Crew] but I said yes because these are some of the experiences that I might not be able to get a second chance at doing and I’m happy that I’m doing it now.” (SOHH)
She was originally selected to appear on the show as a judge in January 2008.
MTV announced 18 year-old female rapper Lil Mama will serve as “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew’s” third judge when the new “So You Think You Can Dance”-like reality competition series premieres on February 7. Lil Mama will join the show’s previously announced judges, former N Sync member JC Chasez and “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Shane Sparks. (Reality TV World)
