Brooklyn rap veteran Lil' Kim recently spoke on the growing popularity of reality television shows and explained why fans should not hold their breath for her to star in one.

In Kim’s perspective, she cannot see herself taking any reality television pitches seriously.

One step Kim doesn’t seem to be interested in taking is the move to a reality show. She was reportedly offered a show as far back as 2004 that never made it to air, and despite winning “Dancing With the Stars” in 2009, she is happy to remain a spectator as opposed to joining the often-tawdry and catty world of bad girl television. “I never say ‘never,’ but I don’t look at television shows or reality shows and say ‘I want to be on this show,’ ” Kim shares. “Not really. I’m more so into just watching them for entertainment purposes.” (Rolling Out)

The Queen Bee also said interested fans could find “reality” in her upcoming new music.

Reigniting her music career would go a long way to silence any Lil’ Kim naysayers. “I just think that my fans — not even just my fans, but even potentially new fans — are ready to hear some new Lil’ Kim music and everyone knows that … I put a lot of my reality into my music [that] people can identify with,” Kim says. “People are ready to hear real rap — real s– coming from a female. Because I’ve always been different, no matter what. My music has always been very sexual and very pro-women. Now I get to do that through my new artists. I have my label coming out, which makes me very driven.” (Rolling Out)

Recently, New York rapper Uncle Murda a.k.a. UM spoke to SOHH about having an interest in doing reality television.

“Yeah, I check ’em out sometimes. I’m not gonna lie, I smoke a litle something and I might check them out,” Murda told SOHH, referring to reality television shows. “Sometimes they’re on and they’re entertaining. I would entertain one. If it was done the right way and I had a lot of control over the sh*t and I could bring certain things to the forefront, like, you know, not just p*ssy and d**k and it’s not just about feelings and emotions between females and n*ggas, I’d like to bring a little bit more reality to reality TV. That’s if I were to be given the opportunity. I like to show some of the real sh*t that’s going on too. Like some of the hood sh*t that’s not being paid attention to. I’d like to bring a whole lot of things to the reality sh*t.” (SOHH)

VH1 reality star T.I.‘s protégé Young Dro also hit up SOHH recently and revealed if fans would ever spot him on a reality series.

“Everybody asked me if I would do reality television,” Dro told SOHH. “I don’t know. I just don’t want to say I want to be a reality star. I want to be a movie star. I read a lot. I coach a lot. But I really want to master the craft. I do know that whatever I do in life, I can do it if I put my mind to it and I can achieve it. I haven’t really thought about what I need to do for that [reality television] craft so that I can present myself out to the world and open up. Once I get a chance to do that, I’ll do so.” (SOHH)
