Brooklyn rapper Lil’ Kim has reportedly partnered up with former NFL star Bryant McKinnie to help her piece together a long-awaited comeback album.

According to the Queen Bee, she is working with the ex-Super Bowl champion.

“I respect Bryant’s energy and input. When I really started to listen to him I realized that he really knows music and gives you nothing but real talk when you ask his opinions.” McKinnie isn’t exactly producing Kim’s new album … he says he’s acting in more of an “A&R capacity” but the Queen Bee says he knows what’s hot in music … because he’s the king of the Miami club scene. In December, the Brooklyn rap veteran talked about preparing for a follow-up to 2005’s The Naked Truth album.

“I’m working on a new album for next year. I put up a post not too long ago, I was at my old record label, so, maybe, hint, hint. I got a couple tours that I’m going to be a part of. So just watch and wait.” (Hot 97)

Back in May, footage of Kim announcing her return bubbled online.

“It’s time for the black Kardashian. Everyone calls me Lil’ Kim, the Queen Bee. Everyone knows me for being fabulous. My friends say that I’m hilarious. The new album, I’m pulling out all the stops. Puffy is back in my life. I’m getting ready to relaunch the new label. I’m recording and making bottles at the same time, you know, changing diapers.” (“The Lil’ Kim Show”)

In 2014, Kim spoke out on her late mentor Notorious B.I.G. watching over her.

“I think he’s very proud. I think he’s super proud because he knows that I’m a nurturer by nature,” Kim, who gave birth to daughter Royal Reign on June 9, 2014. “He’s probably helping me right now because he knows, ‘This girl is gonna need some help from above.’ So, ‘Thank you babe for helping me. I’m going to be the best mom I can be.'” (Hip Hollywood)
