Lil’ Kim Hires Lil Wayne’s Secret Weapon For Comeback Album

Brooklyn rapper Lil’ Kim has revealed just how prepared she is for a long-awaited comeback album and announced who will take executive producer duties on 2006’s The Naked Truth follow-up.

According to the Queen Bee, she will rely on the same hitmaker responsible for producing mega star Lil Wayne‘s “A Milli” and “6 Foot, 7 Foot” anthems.

Kim, your upcoming album is perhaps the most-anticipated album in hip-hop right now! Bangladesh [who’s produced Missy Elliott and Rihanna] is producing your album, correct? Lil’ Kim: Yes, he’s executive-producing it. And we do have other producers working on the album, as well; but the first single that’s coming out in late June/first week of July is produced by Bangladesh, for sure. (Wet Paint)

She also briefly talked about the wave of female hip-hop artists receiving mainstream attention.

That’s cute, though! Now let’s expand a bit: We’re now seeing a shift in female hip-hop where the veteran rap chicks from the ’90s are starting to come back into the game. Eve’s about to drop, rumor has it that Foxy’s back in the studio, and now you’re gearing up with more music. How do you feel about trailblazing that movement again? I think it’s important because we [female rappers] were — and are — a major part of hip-hop. When we were coming up in the game, the music we made was such a major change; it was important to music at the time. [Now] the synergy is lined up! The game has been so male-dominated for so long. With all the women coming back now, this is a way where we get kind of even. (WetPaint)

Over the weekend, Kim popped up at a Rihanna concert in New Jersey.

The Prudential Center was all abuzz when the Queen Bee, Lil’ Kim, was spotted at Rihanna’s “Diamonds World Tour” in Newark, New Jersey, on Sunday. RiRi shouted out her fellow bad girl during the show and the two hugged it out backstage. “Me and my wifey @badgalriri @rihanna !!!!!! :) :) !!!! I’m in love!!!” tweeted Kim, who has remixed Rihanna’s songs including “Man Down” and “Pour It Up.” (Rap-Up)

Back in March, the New York native revealed having an unreleased Notorious B.I.G. record in the stash.

“Actually [Diddy] and I have started to work back together, because I’m the female face of Ciroc [Vodka], ’cause I do have some songs with Bigge on in. … Even though Big is my family, to be able to do something again with him now, it seems like it’s always such a pleasure,” Kim said in an interview with DJ Whoo Kid. “I was around greatness. I was his biggest fan and that don’t happen. You don’t get linked up with the person you look up to. You know, crazy, so that was a blessing for me. … I remember his old deejay 50 Grand, years ago, he came to me years ago like, ‘Kim, I got some stuff that nobody’s ever heard before,’ and he gave it to me and it’s some crazy stuff on there.” (“Whoolywood Shuffle”)
