Brooklyn rap veteran Lil’ Kim is going to be a no-show for a publicized ESSENCE Music Festival this weekend due to business complications.
Queen Bee’s team issued a statement on her not coming through for Puff Daddy & The Family this holiday weekend in Louisiana for the publication’s annual showcase.
“It’s with much regret that we announce that multi-platinum selling recording artist, Lil’ Kim will not be performing with Puff Daddy and Her Family at this year’s Essence Music Festival due to unfilled business obligations. She’s saddened by this news but matters are not within her control. Lil’ Kim would like to thank Essence for the opportunity and her fans for their continued support of the Lil’ Kim brand and looks forward to being at next year’s Essence Music Festival in 2017. This summer, Lil Kim will be honored at the 2016, VH1 Hip Hop Honors awards show while also traveling the country performing on the Bad Boy Reunion Tour and will continue to release more hot music so stay tuned as it’s Lil’ Kim Season.” (Statement)
Buzz developed in early June about Lil’ Kim teaming up with her Bad Boy family for the Essence Music Festival.
The word is out: The Family members who will be joining Puff Daddy at the 2016 ESSENCE Festival will be Lil’ Kim, Mase and French Montana. They will be also be joined by previously announced performer Faith Evans for a Festival closing blowout that is not to be missed at the New Orleans Superdome on July 3. This will give you a chance to catch Puff Daddy & the Family in action before the Bad Boy Family Reunion tour kicks off in August. (ESSENCE)
Music network VH1 is going to pay homage to Lil’ Kim later this month with its televised “Hip Hop Honors Live” broadcast.
