Houston rapper Lil' Flip is not going down without a fight after his high-profile arrest last month on gun and drug-related charges, claiming he unjustly got thrown behind bars.
Rather than take the legal loss, Flip plans to make his voice heard out of the studio and in a court.
Lil Flip is vowing to fight his recent drug and gun arrest because he claims he can prove the assault rifle found in his car is 100% legal … TMZ has learned. Flip tells TMZ he has a valid license to carry the gun — which he claims is not automatic firing — and says he needs to carry it because he’s an entertainer who’s been shot before. Flip — real name Wesley Eric Weston– gave TMZ a photo of his Texas concealed handgun license … which he says is also valid in 22 other states, including Louisiana. (TMZ)
Flipper also said he did not possess drugs when Louisiana police pulled him over.
As for the weed … Flip claims they were “Black and Mild” wine flavored cigars and clove cigarettes, and says he is “not one of those rappers who would carry drugs on me. I know better.” Flip says he intends to plead not guilty, and adds … “I know they don’t mess around in Louisiana and I wouldn’t do anything to make me go to the big house. Especially on Christmas night.” (TMZ)
After posting bail last week, Flip issued an informal statement on what went down.

Details of his arrest circulated online the night after Christmas.
A Houston rapper stopped this morning for speeding on Interstate 49 in DeSoto Parish is still sitting in a jail cell after deputies allegedly found drugs and a firearm in his possession. Deputies working with the Directed Patrol Unit stopped Wesley Eric Weston, 31, known by his hiphop stage name of Lil’ Flip, for traveling 86 in a 75 mph zone. Weston was the driver of a 2010 Dodge Challenger also occupied by Olanza Sanders, of Shreveport. During a search of the vehicle, deputies found marijuana and a Bushmaster AR-15 assault rifle, Sgt.
