After handfuls of release dates surfacing over the past few months, new reports claim locked up rapper Lil Boosie is going to finally taste freedom in the next few days.
According to reports, Boosie Bad Azz will be released by next week.
According to Lil Boosie’s label rep, the 31-year-old rapper will be released from prison in time for a press conference that will take place March 10. Atlantic Records’ Ashley Kalmanowitz explained to NOLA that he will “absolutely” be attending the event, where the Baton Rouge native will speak for the first time since he was sentenced to five years in prison for various charges. “He will absolutely be there,” she said. “He’ll be speaking to the press for the first time … after his release.” His most recent charge was in 2011, when he pleaded guilty for attempting to smuggle narcotics in prison. Last month, reports revealed Boosie’s initial February 13 projected release would likely be set back.
We do know he’s coming and it’s all but a given that it’ll be in 2014. Yet, pinning down the exact date isn’t as cut and dry as it once seemed. On Friday night, LA Weekly’s Jeff Weiss reported he “received confirmation that Boosie will not be getting out of jail next week. However, his release is imminent — most likely in March. A parole board hearing was scheduled for Boosie next week but was canceled, because it didn’t make sense considering his release is so soon.” (Smoking Section)
Coincidentally, UGK’s Bun B confirmed Bad Azz would once again be a free man in February.
“Boosie Bad Ass gets home on February 13. Confirmed. Get ready.,” Bun tweeted January 31.

Some initial reports also claimed Boosie Bad Azz would finally be released right before Valentine’s Day.
Toss all those #FreeBoosie T-shirts and start painting #WelcomeHome signs. According to Hot 97’s Ebro, Torrence Hatch, p/k/a Lil Boosie, is set to be released from prison on Feb. 13, 2014. That’s just over two weeks away! There’s been plenty of speculation surrounding Boosie’s long-awaited release, and it seems that each month the hood x hipster following of the Louisiana “Bad Azz” grows. Last month, it was reported that the Baton Rouge rapper would be freed on Aug. 18, 2014. Then Boosie’s brother and manager Taquari Hatch clarified that he could, in fact, be out as early as Feb, as long as he completed two classes while inside. (Miss Info TV)
