Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie doesn't need a full year in the books before getting his message out to the world and, instead, will release his highly-anticipated comeback album this summer.
If all goes accordingly, Boosie Bad Azz’s LP will arrive in mid-July.
Lil Boosie made no secret about the more than 1,000 songs he penned while in the Angola State Penitentiary. He’s also been a near constant presence in the studio since his March 5 release, so it should come as no surprise that his next album is due to be out quickly — on July 15, 2014, to be exact. The Baton Rouge-born rapper reportedly told Complex about the release date while on a trip to the magazine’s New York offices. (NOLA)
The Baton Rouge latest album since 2010’s Incarcerated will come stacked with guest features.
The album is nearly complete, although details like clearing the use of sampled tracks still remain to be finalized. Tracks will feature a number of artists, including the likes of 2 Chainz, Young Jeezy and T.I. “I ain’t wanna come home and play with the mix-tape game, I wanted to come home and hit ’em hard,” Lil Boosie told Complex. New footage of Bad Azz and Atlanta’s Jeezy performing together at a concert surfaced online last weekend.
Lil’ Boosie’s “TD2CH” nationwide tour pulled into the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana on Saturday night. Marking Boosie’s first time touching a stage in his home state since being released from prison, Bad Azz reached out to another southern heavyweight to join him. Young Jeezy made a special appearance, as the two performed their 2009-collaboration “Better Believe It.” (Miss Info TV)
Boosie became a free man in early March.
Rapper Lil Boosie, whose real is Torrence Hatch, walked out of prison a free man Wednesday evening, after being locked up for more than four years. Warden Burl Cain said Hatch was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola at 7:10 p.m. He was then transferred to a West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office facility in St. Francisville, where family members were waiting for him. “It’s a blessing for him to be home,” said fan Clifford Jackson. “He went through the struggle, he’s home and just wish him the best.” (WAFB News)
