Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has finally offered up some thoughts on NBA stud Kevin Durant shocking fans by joining the Golden State Warriors this summer.

Instead of bashing the move, Bron-Bron applauded KD’s headline-generating decision.

“I learned just like everyone else, through social media. I think it was on the Fourth of July when it actually happened, and I was in my home in Los Angeles, preparing for a Fourth of July barbecue. When I saw the news I was like, “Wow.” I think everyone had the “wow” thing. My [reaction] was no different from the average person who doesn’t know basketball to the person who watches it or covers it every day. So, I think it’s all great for our league. Our league is very competitive. It’s continued to grow, and [NBA Commissioner] Adam Silver has done a great job of picking up where David Stern started, so it’s pretty cool.” (Business Insider)

James also explained why his 2010 move to the Miami Heat is incomparable to KD’s team-switching shuffle.

“Well, I think every decision is different. My decision to leave Cleveland to go to Miami and then go back is different from Kevin Durant leaving OKC [home of the Oklahoma City Thunder] and going to the Warriors. It’s different from Shaq leaving Orlando and going to the [Los Angeles] Lakers. It’s different from Michael retiring, coming back, retiring, coming back, and then going to the [Washington] Wizards. So I think every decision is different, and how much you have invested in that player, I guess, or how much you feel for that player is how you’re going to react. So everyone is different.” (Business Insider)

Last month, Durant talked about the online backlash he received for leaving OKC for Golden State.

“All that stuff happens on the Internet. I haven’t had one person come to me and say anything negative. … It’s easy for the critics on the outside to tell you what to do, to tell you how to play. I’m the one that’s going through it, so I can’t really worry about the outside noise. The work don’t stop. Everything stays the same.” (The Vertical)

Recently, KD responded to criticism shot his way from former NBA legends Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Warriors.

“Those are two guys, you know? They’ve got a voice in our game, and a lot of people probably felt the same way, but they don’t have a voice so obviously what they say is translated through a megaphone so it feels like everybody else, you know? If Charles Barkley said it, it must be true. If Reggie Miller says it, it must be true. It just feels like it’s bigger than what it is. But they have such a big platform and people respect them so it feels bigger than what it is. But for the most part, I got the support around me. I’ve got the family that supports me no matter what, that love me no matter what I do. I could be playing tennis right now, and I could retire from the game of basketball and they’re still going to love me. So if I think about that, I’ll be fine.”
