Prior to showing in-game footage of King James, the trailer starts off with LeBron having a conversation with his virtual self.

LeBron James will be on the cover of NBA2K14, because he is LeBron James. There’s a promo video of him talking to his video-game self, because the graphics are really good and you’re not supposed to be able to tell the difference, or something. (Sports Grid)

James appears on the game’s artwork, making it his first-ever video game cover.

Miami Heat star LeBron James graces the cover of NBA 2K14, the latest edition of the immensely popular and decorated basketball video game franchise that has sold more than five million copies in each of the last three years. 2K14 will be released for current generation platforms on Oct. 1 and is slated to be available on the as-yet-determined launch dates for the next-generation PS4 and X-Box One. Jason Argent, senior vice president of sports operations for 2K Sports, said playing 2K14 on current- and next-generation platforms would be “independent experiences.” (USA Today)

Last week, LeBron explained his motivation for teaming up with the 2K Sports franchise.

“My friends, family and fans all know how much I love NBA 2K,” James said in a statement. “I remember, as a kid, getting so excited for the game to come out and see who was on the cover, and it’s amazing to be a part of this great tradition. I love partnerships and opportunities that connect me directly with fans. I know from my own experience and now watching my own kids, NBA 2K is among the coolest and purest ways for fans to connect to the NBA. I love being a part of it.” (ESPN)

NBA 2K13 featured Bron Bron’s longtime friend Jay-Z taking an executive producer role.

Rapper and Brooklyn Nets part-owner Jay-Z is set to executive produce NBA 2K13, the 13th installment in 2K Sport’s popular basketball game series. The news was revealed via his Life + Times website in a trailer featuring his song “Public Service Announcement” from “The Black Album.” The 24-second viral video is narrated by Michael Jordan and also showcases the cover baring Jay-Z’s name in the top right corner. NBA 2K13 is currently available for pre-order and is set to hit shelves on October 2. While it’s unclear the type of music Jay-Z has in mind for the soundtrack, in the past, both indie rock and hip-hop music have been featured. (Billboard)

  1. I think Joe Brown has an alcohol problem and possibly even drugs with some of his outrageous acts. I hope Ocean is going out with Perry, she’s shown interest in the brothas dating Travie Mccoy earlier in her career. It would help me regain some interest in his music but more than likely they are working on a project together. She was always too good for that bitch John Meyer, total asshole, I don’t see how any woman with fame to her name goes out with that guy. He has a terrible voice and his music is less than average.

  2. Whites can be offended if they want. I don’t care. We as Blacks have been subject to the most immoral and cruel forms of debasement, derision, and pillory as has been reflected in American film, media, and literature over decades, some would say centuries.

As for Joe Brown, he’s always been a coon. He made a living publicly bashing and defaming young Black males. Karma is real. What goes around comes around my nigga, and what goes up must come down my nigga lol

    • How has Joe Brown been a coon? These niggas out here need tough love. There is no time to be soft and sugarcoat it for these niggas. Telling Black men over and over to take care of your children, don’t have a bunch of baby mothers, get married, don’t fuck up your credit, don’t commit stupid ass crimes to get locked up and a criminal record, get an education, etc is not coon shit. Is there racism? Yeah of course it is. But a lot of these niggas fuck their own lives up and want to blame ”The man.” We need more successful Black males like Joe Brown and Bill Cosby giving niggas the real deal.

      • Brown is a coon because he always focuses on that on his show. He never has had positive representations of Black men on his show and he always condemns and bashes. I never saw tough love I saw tough dissing and shit talking. You can keep it real without degrading folks. He could offer useful advice, refer them to educational opportunities, offer internships, or write recommendation letters for employment opportunities. Judging and condemning never works. It’s ineffective. That’s why the same people keep going back. Listing everything that’s wrong with a person will only breed resentment.

    • I am not offended one bit. Too many sensitive people around, they come in all races and income brackets. “Sensitive thugs, you all need hugs”

  3. why is this broad trying to appeal to the black audience. First with that most obvious track with juicy. now she on franks red hot smh

    • shit..a nigga been locked up for a minute now..i’ll take her down and through there ya heard me!!
