NBA champion LeBron James is getting on the A$AP Rocky wave, co-signing the New York rap newcomer's music and describing him as bigger than hip-hop.
King James boasted about Rocky’s new “Long Live A$AP” smash anthem and co-signed his star power heading into the weekend.
“Been bumping this Long.Live.A$AP lately! He be going in! I believe he’s a big time STAR beyond just music.,” he tweeted December 28th. (LeBron James’ Twitter)
Last week, A$AP dropped his new “Long Live A$AP” music video.
Just going by the video for “F*ckin’ Problems,” a simple blank-background affair, A$AP Rocky would not seem to be the kind of artist with Lady-Gaga-level cinematic ambitions. But all that’s changed with the release of the video for “Long Live A$AP,” the title track off A$AP’s upcoming major-label debut, which is one of the self-consciously arty rap videos we’ve seen in quite a while. We’re not sure exactly how to explain it, so here are some screen caps and maybe you’ll be able to decode it for us. Is that a thumb? (Pop Dust)
The track is featured on Rocky’s upcoming solo album which bears the same title.
The song “Long Live A$AP” is featured on A$AP Rocky’s debut studio album, “Long. Live. ASAP” which is set to be released on Jan. 15, 2013 via Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records. The current single from the album is “F**kin’ Problems” featuring Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar. (Examiner)
Outside of music, the rap rookie announced the passing of his father.
“R.I.P DAD , UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN . “SEE MY DADDY IN HEAVEN , HE BE DA REALIST G” TTTLhttp://instagr.am/p/TtMj46Ba_Q/,” Rocky tweeted December 26th. (A$AP Rocky’s Twitter)
