Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill's ex-lover Rohan Marley has taken aim at Wyclef Jean days after dropping Purpose: An Immigrant's Story and claiming she duped him into believing he fathered her first child.
Marley said Clef’s book paints a false picture of his relationship with Hill.
That was news to Rohan, who dated Lauryn from ’96 to 2004, and tells TMZ … Wyclef “knew from jump that was my son from the day [Lauryn] was pregnant.” Rohan — one of Bob Marley‘s sons, and a former football stud at U. of Miami — does admit Lauryn and Wyclef screwed around before he came on the scene, but says he’s confident it ended because Wyclef actually played matchmaker … “They were definitely not messing around, or he would never have given me the okay.” He also says he and Lauryn were together in studio sessions night and day back then so there wouldn’t even be time for her to have the alleged affair. Jean has also weighed in on the accusations and not changed his side of the story.
Rohan added he thinks Wyclef is “just saying false things to get book headlines” — and he has no plans to talk it out with ‘Clef because “he knows he is fronting himself. For his part, Wyclef tells TMZ, “There is no way that I would have shown up in the hospital in that circumstance to wait for a baby to be born if it was not mine. The idea of a memoir is to tell the truth. I know that often the truth hurts, but a lie hurts even more.” (TMZ)

It’s no secret that ex-Fugees members Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill had a bad falling out, but Wyclef’s new claims may make you see the situation in a completely different light. In his new autobiography, Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story–which hits stores tomorrow–Clef says the initial crack that broke up The Fugees began when Lauryn made him believe that her first born son was his, when it was actually Rohan Marley’s (son of Bob Marley). Wyclef writes, “In that moment something died between us. I was married and Lauryn and I were having an affair, but she led me to believe that the baby was mine, and I couldn’t forgive that.” He continues by adding, “She could not longer be my muse. Our love spell was broken.” (VIBE)

Rohan Marley says that his relationship with his ex-partner Lauryn Hill is “good” when it comes to the welfare of their children. The businessman and son of reggae star Bob Marley, admits that things aren’t perfect between him and the Doo Wop (That Thing) hitmaker, with whom he has five children. But he says that since their split last year, after more than a decade together, they both remain good parents to their children. “[Our relationship] is good as in… in terms of being a mother and father to our children, it’s good,” says Marley, who is now engaged to Brazilain supermodel Isabeli Fontana. “It’s not as perfect as one might want it to be. It’s just the way the road went.” Speaking of their highly publicised break-up, the 40-year-old co-founder of gourmet coffee company Marley Coffee, added: “As a man, there are certain things I don’t accept, and it just so happened that I didn’t accept certain things [in the relationship]. “It doesn’t mean she’s [Hill] a bad person or I’m a bad person.
