Brooklyn Nets player Kris Humphries continues to fall victim to Kanye West/Kim Kardashian jokes, notably last night at the hands of local New York Knicks rival player JR Smith.
Boasting over a three-point win, Humphries put himself in a vulnerable position following Monday afternoon’s game with a simple tweet.
Things are going well for the Brooklyn Nets lately, winning 10 of 12 games since P.J. Carlesimo took over as head coach, including Monday night’s win over the rival Knicks at Madison Square Garden. However, the same can’t be said for Nets big man Kris Humphries. The 27-year-old has spent the last two seasons enduring ruthless taunts regarding his failed 72-day marriage in 2011 with socialite Kim Kardashian and recently, the news that she’s pregnant with Kanye West’s child. But he’s not just getting grief from fans. After Monday’s win, Humphries tweeted: “Big game tonight! The Garden got really quiet on the way out! #Brooklyn” (USA Today)
Smith immediately followed Humphries’ comment by taunting him about his separated wife Kim Kardashian and her current boyfriend Kanye West’s relationship.
Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith, a frequent tweeter and excellent trash-talker, didn’t let Humphries get the last word, and tweeted back: “Wasnt quiet when Kanye tore it down last month!” Rapper Kanye West recently announced that he’s having a baby with Kardashian. Deejays seem to love torturing the Net forward with the vocal stylings of his ex-wife’s new beau. Humphries’ anguish was apparent Wednesday night at WIP, when he arrived to let off steam after a tough loss to the Knicks, but was left fuming after consecutive West songs blared in his ears. “He was trying to talk to every girl in there and was getting turned down by every girl he spoke to,” an eyewitness tells Confidenti@l’s Marianne Garvey. According to reports, he will not sign any divorce papers until Kim K admits their marriage was bogus.
In conjunction with legal handlings that have been drawn out since their October 2011 separation, Kim Kardashian is now saying she wants ex-husband Kris Humphries to pay for her hefty attorney fees. Because Humphries refuses to officially divorce Kardashian unless she acknowledges his claims that their marriage was a fraud, there’s a chance the couple technically will still be married at the time the reality star gives birth to her and boyfriend Kanye West’s baby in June — and Kardashian is none too pleased about that. But while people close to Humphries reportedly are urging him to settle the case and walk away, Kardashian is demanding that the Nets player take care of her lawyer’s bill after putting her through this ordeal for a year and a half.
