Brooklyn Nets star Kris Humphries reportedly decided to focus on taking his team to the promised land, the NBA Finals, rather than spend a second in court battling estranged wife Kim Kardashian in a divorce dispute.
Humphries’ camp revealed his motivation behind being a no-show for multiple court appearances, notably, yesterday’s divorce settlement hearing.
Kris Humphries — who was once obsessed with proving to the world that Kim Kardashian was a love fraud — now says he gave up his battle because of his love of BBall. A rep for Kris tells TMZ, “Kris and his family are excited to move forward and are grateful for all the support they have received in this process.” The rep then sets the priorities straight: “His commitment to the Brooklyn Nets and the team’s incredible fans is his number one priority and he is excited to head into the playoffs tomorrow with this situation behind him.” TMZ broke the story … Kris settled his divorce beef with Kim and walked away with nothing — he didn’t get the annulment he sought and didn’t get a penny. The publicized divorce settlement made widespread headlines Friday.
A Los Angeles judge has approved a divorce settlement between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. Details of the agreement were not disclosed in a brief court hearing Friday, but the judge said he felt that settlement talks had led to resolution. The divorce will become final once papers are prepared and signed by the parties. Kardashian appeared with her lawyer and said she understood the terms of the agreement. Humphries did not attend. The judge dropped an order for the NBA player to appear and explain why he failed to attend a previous hearing. (USA Today)
During her appearance, Kim reportedly said counseling would not have helped them avoid divorce.
The Kourtney & Kim Take Miami star showed up on time for the proceedings Friday morning, and answered a few short questions from the judge, an eyewitness tells Us. When asked if irreconcilable differences led to the breakdown of the marriage, Kardashian responded yes. She denied that counseling would have helped the marriage. Save for the court’s final sign-off on the judgment — which will need to happen before June 19 — Kardashian and Humphries are now officially divorced, just in time for the July arrival of Kardashian’s baby with boyfriend Kanye West. The now-former couple tied the knot after a short period of dating back in summer 2011.
Kardashian and Humphries were married in August 2011. The two were married for 72 days before Kardashian filed for divorce in Oct. 2011. She is currently pregnant with rapper Kanye West’s child. (Fox News)
