Less than 24 hours after Kanye West made headlines for going off on a paparazzo, theories and explanations for the science behind his rants have emerged.
According to reports, Ye’s reality star girlfriend Kim Kardashian may have a connection to his recent treatment toward freelance photographers.
Sources close to Kanye tell TMZ … after he started getting serious with Kim Kardashian, he felt a couple of paps would cross the line and ask him inappropriate questions about their relationship in public. We’re told he started to feel like certain paps were “heckling” him. Things escalated in October 2012 during a trip to Miami … when a local photog — not a TMZ guy — asked Kanye and Kim if they would be inviting Kris Humphries and Reggie Bush to their wedding. Kanye was pissed … and, rightfully so, felt the photog was just trying to antagonize him. (TMZ)
Tensions only rose after Kanye publicly revealed they were expecting a child together.
Things got worse a few months later, after Kim announced she was pregnant — when another pap started hammering K&K about whether they would invite Ray J to the baby shower. That, we’re told, was the breaking point — and from that moment on, Kanye decided to impose his “DON’T EVER TALK” policy on anyone with a camera. Here’s the problem … if Kanye doesn’t want to talk to a pap, that’s fine — he has that right. But when he starts attacking people and smashing camera equipment … dude, you crossed the line. (TMZ)
Footage from Friday’s Los Angeles International Airport explosion bubbled across the Internet yesterday afternoon.
The rapper was caught on camera arriving at LAX to catch a flight out of L.A. and offered up an odd rant about his privacy as the TMZ.com cameraman shot footage and professed his love and admiration for the hitmaker. West raged, “I appreciate that but don’t talk… don’t talk to me… I don’t want to hear paparazzi talk to me or anybody I know… and tell everybody never talk to anyone that anyone knows… Don’t talk to themselves… Don’t talk ever again.” The pap refused to heed West’s warning and when he asked about a possible sequel to the rapper’s Watch the Throne album with Jay-Z, Kanye snapped and charged the guy, snatching for his video camera. Around mid-June, Mr. West detailed his issues with paparazzi.
“Right now it’s a fight against the separation and constant dumbing down of culture, and I’m standing in the middle of it. So if you know what people say are my lowest moments, those moments where I sat and saw them try to dumb down culture, and I would not allow it to happen on my clock. [Applause] So when I used to go to fashion shows with my boys and we’d be eight deep, it was almost like a civil rights, like a sit-in. They wouldn’t even let us in. They had no idea what rap would mean to this world, what rap would mean to the art world. Before the Kendrick Lamars and the A$AP Rockys, it was Kanye West in a hotel room at the Le Maurice getting a ‘no, no, no, no’ to every single fashion show. But I thought it was so important to get close to the artists who worked so hard on making a usable form of art–like this furniture right here, like everything that is in all these rooms that inspire us so much–and I fight in my position of being a very commercial celebrity boyfriend, I fight to push culture forward every chance I get. And I only frown because paparazzi ask me dumbass shit all the time, and I think about changing the world, and I think about what I can do to make things better. And, without further ado, I want to play you guys my new album. It’s called Yeezus.” (The Daily Beast)
